What is Fitness Training and Why is it crucial for Tennis Players ?

Tennis is a sport that requires you to respond to a continous series of sudden movements throughout a match. You need to keep changing directions in a matter of seconds, left and right, back and forth, sprint to the net, stretch, suddenly stop and start. On top of all these you need to maintain your balance and technique throughout a match. As such tennis players  have been identified to require 5 important fitness elements  to enahnace their ability on court. They are

1. Strength & Endurance

Excellent strength and muscular endurance is required to enable a player to hit just as hard and good at the begining and end of match.

2. Power

You need power for explosive movements, to respond quickly with less effort and get into position quicly to set up well and hit effective shots.

3. Speed & Agility

Since you need to keep changing directions in a few seconds, you absolutely need speed to get to the ball. The faster you get yourself in position, the more time you have to prepare for the ball.

4. Aerobic & Anarobic Fitness

This is to help you to recover quickly between points and you will be less tired towards the end of a match.

5.Flexibility

This is to allow you to have unrestricted range of motion which in turn prevents injury and enhances your performance.

Now it should be apparent to you why a fitness training program is crucial for a tennis player. An increased fitness level will improve your tennis game immensely.

Our Fitness Training Programs

Our fitness training targets all the above conditioning elements of a tennis player incorporating the following methods  

  • gym training
  • water workout
  • court drills
  • outdoor training

 Junior Fitness Program

   Individual Training once a week with one hour per session. RM250 a month

Group Training once a week with one hour per session. RM150 a month 


Specialized Training for High Performance Players

A training program is designed to meet the specific needs of the player. The player's goals and individual needs is first assessed. We will keep track of the players strengths and weakness, monitor his progress and refine his program from time to time for optimum performance.
